Aaron Galloway's student recital to be held on November 12

The community is invited to the cello recital of °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ junior Aaron Galloway. The free recital will be held on Saturday, November 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. A public reception will follow.

The recital will feature a selection of works from the Baroque and Romantic eras as well as in jazz and contemporary styles. A highlight of the recital is Brahms’ beautiful Sonata for Piano and Cello in E minor, op. 38. Other composers featured in the recital include Robert Schumann, James Stephenson, Mark Summer, and Georg Matthias Monn. Galloway will be accompanied by °¼Í¹ÊÓƵjunior Paige Decker of Lynden, Washington, and by Nancy Vermeer of Sioux Center, Iowa.

Galloway, from Pella, Iowa, is majoring in biology and music. He has studied cello with Marian Casey since 2020. He is the principal cellist of the °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ Chamber Orchestra. Galloway was featured as a soloist with the Cherokee Symphony Orchestra in the Spring of 2022. Several of his compositions have been performed at Dordt.
