The ͹Ƶ Theatre Department will present a dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” on October 19-21 and October 26 and 28 in the Te Paske Theatre.

The production will be directed by Dr. Teresa Ter Haar, with costume and puppet design by Becky Donahue, and a cast of 24 student actors.

Dramatized by Joseph Robinette, this production recreates the adventures of four children as they wander through an old wardrobe into the exciting world of Narnia to discover the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, and learn about the wiles of the White Witch.

“’The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe’ is a beloved story - ultimately, one full of hope,” says Dr. Teresa Ter Haar, director and professor of theatre arts. “The four children take us with them on a journey and I can't wait to share that with our audiences. The story was adapted as a play for young audiences - such a wonderful genre of production to work on.”

The different types of characters featured in the productions allow the department to depict the story creatively.

“Our production uses lots of theatre magic,” says Ter Haar. “We use masks, projections, puppets, stage combat, sound, and lights.”
