Ƶ will host a Choral Ensembles Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 29 in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The concert will feature three of the ƵChoral Ensembles: Bella Voce (women’s chorus), Canons of Ƶ(men’s chorus), and Chorale.
The program will draw from a wide range of styles from the 20th and 21st centuries and explore themes of God’s created order: wisdom, water, morning, and evening.
“As Reformed Christians we see all of creation as belonging to God and falling under his sovereign rule,” says Dr. Ryan Smit, assistant music professor. “It is our prayer that we as performers and audience members will receive new revelations about God’s creativity and care of his people and his creation through the lens of beautiful choral settings of Scriptural and poetic texts.”
Bella Voce is conducted by Dr. Carrie Groenewold, Canons of Ƶby Tim Van Voorst, and Chorale by Smit.
The concert and a PDF program will also be available on livestream at dordt.edu/live-events.
