͹ƵWorship releases original Christmas song

͹ƵWorship released a new Christmas song, "O Come All Ye Faithful (Hallelujah)," featuring an original chorus celebrating the offering of praise to Christ.

͹ƵWorship released a Christmas song on Friday, December 13. It’s available on , , and .

The song, “O Come All Ye Faithful (Hallelujah),” is performed by Julianna Gitlin, a sophomore from Correctionville, IA, live in the BJ Haan Auditorium. It was produced by Alex Priore, director of production arts at Dordt.

Ray Badudu, director of campus worship at Dordt, wrote an original chorus for the piece. The lyrics to the chorus are “Hallelujah, we bring our offering. Hallelujah to Christ our Lord and King.”

“I noticed that most of the vocabulary in the choruses is an invitation to praise, so I treated it as a pre-chorus and wrote a chorus that would resolve in the action of praise itself,” says Badudu. “‘Hallelujah’ was the first word that came to mind.”

“The rest of the chorus is inspired by the three wise men bringing their gifts to Jesus. As we congregationally sing songs of worship, our gift to the Lord is an offering of praise,” he adds.
