Joe Driewer
Assistant Professor of Engineering
Dr. Joe Driewer is an assistant professor of engineering. Prior to joining Ƶ’s faculty in January 2024, Driewer served as the chief physicist and director of a radiation oncology practice at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital. He is certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology (DABR) in therapeutic radiation physics.
“I am grateful for my time in the clinic,” says Driewer. “It has provided many examples for the classroom.”
He teaches a variety of classes at Dordt, including:
- History of Science & Technology
- Electronic Devices & Circuits
- Core 100: Kingdom, Identity, and Calling
His primary research interest is radiotherapy, particularly robotic applications and radiation dosimetry.
Outside of his work at Dordt, Driewer says he enjoys “long walks with my bride, laughing with our daughters, football Saturdays, scuba, marathon finishes, and way too many other things to identify here!”
