EDUCATION Ed.D., University of South Dakota (Counseling and Supervision, 1996) M.Ed., Northern Arizona University (School Counseling, 1986) BA, °¼Í¹ÊÓƵCollege (Psychology and Education, 1985) After graduating from °¼Í¹ÊÓƵCollege in 1985, I completed a master’s degree in School Counseling from Northern Arizona University and worked as a School Counselor from 1986-89 at Des Moines Christian School (Des Moines, IA ). In 1989 I began my work at °¼Í¹ÊÓƵCollege as the Director of Personal Counseling. I completed my doctoral degree from the University of South Dakota in 1996 and completed three more years of service at °¼Í¹ÊÓƵCollege in the counseling center. In 2000 I began teaching in the psychology program and this fall am beginning my 21st year of teaching and 31st year of work at Dordt.
SERVICE AT DORDT UNIVERSITY I advise students in the psychology and pre-occupational therapy programs, and teach (or have taught) the following courses: PSYC 204: Life-Span Development (face-to-face & online), PSYC 224: Psychopathology; PSYC 260: Ethics; PSYC 370: Helping Skills; PSYC 374: Counseling Theories; PSYC 376: Personality Theories; PSYC 382: Health Psychology; PSYC 384: History of Psychology and Worldview.
