Background

In my time as a college professor I have taught at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Trinity Christian College, in Chicago, Illinois. At Dordt, I teach courses for the Theatre Arts Department, Education Department, and Core Program. I direct productions on the mainstage and serve as Chair of the Theatre Arts Department. In addition, I serve as the Dean for Curriculum and Instruction at °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ.

I graduated from Calvin College with an Education degree - emphasizing in Fine Arts. My long-term interest in Theatre Pedagogy, Educational Theatre, and directing Theatre for Youth stems from this formative time at Calvin. I continue to work in this area of specialization by teaching an Educational Theatre/Creative Drama course. My research interests also include "a theatre of the cross," theatre practitioners as "prophets," and theatre pedagogy best practices.
