For the second year in a row the °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ Defender women's basketball team swept the GPAC regular season championship and the postseason tournament championship, getting a 77-54 win over Briar Cliff University in the title game in Sioux Center.

The Defenders used a strong defense to pull away from a 3-2 lead and scored 12 points in a row, capping the run with a basket for a 15-12 lead. added to the lead late in the quarter with her second three-point basket for a 23-6 advantage and settled for a 23-8 lead when the quarter ended.

Briar Cliff cut the lead to 28-18 prompting a °¼Í¹ÊÓƵtimeout. got °¼Í¹ÊÓƵback on track with back to back baskets and five unanswered by to end the half put °¼Í¹ÊÓƵup 39-23. The Chargers twice rallied to within 12 twice, the last time at 44-32 but second three-point basket capped an 8-2 run for a 52-34 lead and extended the lead to 64-41 on a Sievers three-point basket right before the horn.

The fourth quarter was played between a 22 and 28 point difference for the eventual 23-point victory.
