°¼Í¹ÊÓƵ will partner with Tyndale University to offer a fast-track MSW degree for students studying psychology and human services.
Junior Macy Sievers has been named GPAC Player of the Year, and senior Janie Van Donge earned GPAC Defensive Player of the Year.
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has recognized two °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ women's basketball players with top postseason honors following the 2024-25 season. Junior Macy Sievers has been named GPAC Player of the Year, and senior Janie Van Donge earned GPAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Sievers, a Storm Lake, Iowa native, played a pivotal role in leading the Defenders to their third consecutive GPAC regular season title and second straight conference tournament championship. Averaging 15.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 3.1 steals per game, she showcased her all-around ability throughout the season. Sievers, who is Dordt’s all-time leader in career assists and has surpassed 1,000 career points, shot 44.6% from the field and made 56 three-pointers.
This marks the first time a °¼Í¹ÊÓƵplayer has earned GPAC Player of the Year honors since 2022.
Van Donge, a senior from Hospers, Iowa, anchored Dordt’s defense while contributing offensively with 16.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. A versatile defender, she regularly matched up against top scorers across all five positions, helping solidify the Defenders’ defensive presence. Van Donge ranks second in career rebounds at °¼Í¹ÊÓƵand fifth in all-time scoring. She is only the second player in program history to surpass both 1,000 career points and 1,000 rebounds—and the first to achieve this milestone in just four seasons.
Sievers and Van Donge were also named First-Team All-GPAC selections, joining teammates Olivia Harazin, Gracie Schoonhoven, and Willow Bleeker, who were also recognized for their outstanding performances this season.
The Defenders, boasting a 29-2 record, now turn their attention to the NAIA National Championship tournament, beginning March 14.
